Students' Corner

IGIB offers students and young researchers several avenues to kick-start their research career:
Research Associate: Research Associates, after completing their Ph.D, can either join CSIR projects (please refer to project assistant selection process for the same) or bring in their own Fellowship like the CSIR Research Associateship or DBT Post-Doctoral Fellowship Programme.
Ph.D programme: IGIB conducts an annual selection process consisting of a written aptitude test followed by an interview, for Ph.D candidates. The selected students are assigned to laboratories of mutual choice. The compulsory course-work is designed to provide an orientation towards research, imbibe principles and methodology of doing research and familiarize the Ph.D students with the activities of the Institute. Please refer to the advertisement in national dailies and this site for up-to-date information on the eligibility criteria and selection process.
Project Assistants: IGIB conducts monthly walk-in-interviews to select temporary project staff with qualifications ranging from Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D in different branches of science and medicine. Kindly consult the current advertisement for detailed information on the projects with positions open, eligibility criteria and expected remuneration.
Short–term training: IGIB accepts limited number of trainees for:
* 6 months project training for students pursuing Masters in Science or B.Tech. degrees. Trainees shall be accepted during Janaury –June 2010; and July to December 2010.
* 2-3 months summer training for the students preferably with training fellowships from National academies. This program is available only during the summer months (May to July only). The applications for summer training will not be entertained after 30th April of each year.
